EMIL WERETYK It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Emil Weretyk in the early morning of May 20, 2013, at the age of 90. Predeceased by his wife Anna in 2011, Emil leaves to mourn: his sons John (Virginia) and Michael; his grandchildren Adam, Jason and Jennifer Weretyk; Dr. Michael Szul, Marilyn Richards-McLellan and their respective families, and friends. Emil was born in Selo Monylnytsia in Western Ukraine on November 9, 1922 and came to Canada in June 1949. Soon after, he met Anna Szul and they were married on May 23, 1953. Emil was employed by Winnipeg Hydro for over 35 years until he retired in November 1986. During his retirement years, Emil enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and their dog Mick. He relished taking on tasks around the house and taking things apart to see how they worked and tried to fix them. The family would like to send special thanks to the 3rd floor, unit 4 medical and support staff at the Grace Hospital for all the care and kindness given to Emil during his stay. Viewing will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. on Friday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. VICHNAYA PAM'YAT CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
