RITA BRENNAN (nee SPOONER) Peacefully, on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 Rita Brennan passed away at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband William; sisters, Irene and Edna, and brothers, Samuel and Robert. Left to mourn her passing are daughter, Colleen Michalkow (Don Martin); granddaughter, Molly Michalkow; sister, Verna Eliasson; many special nieces, as well as her extended family. Rita was always quite the character, known for her quick wit and goofy sense of humour. She was loved by all who knew her. She loved to travel and was able to join her family on numerous vacations over the years. Rita was a talented artist, both on paper and in ceramics. Her joy in life was often found in her girls, Colleen and Molly, of whom she was always proud. The family would like to say a special thank you to all of the kind staff of the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for taking such good care of Rita over the past two years. Funeral service will be held for family and close friends on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita's memory may be made to the charity of your choosing.
