FRANCES STERGAR It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frances Stergar on May 19, 2013. Frances was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Carolina Stergar, her brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Irene Stergar and her fiancé Roy Johns. She is survived and will be missed by her cousin Roy Woodard and her many close friends. Frances and her family lived in the north end of Winnipeg her entire life. She was a career woman and worked as a legal secretary for various law firms in Winnipeg, spending her last 11 years at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP before her retirement. Frances enjoyed life, loved to paint, play the piano and travel. She was a world traveller and it was on one of her many trips to Hawaii that she met her beloved fiancé Roy. Frances also loved animals and always had two cats that were her babies. Frances had a great love of God and the Bible and, in the last 12 years of her life, greatly enjoyed learning about her Creator. She looked forward to the time when sickness and death would be gone forever and she would see all her lost loved ones on a paradise earth. Many thanks go to the staff of Middlechurch Nursing Home for the wonderful compassion, concern and companion care Frances received while she resided there the last three years of her life. Interment has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frances's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
