WESTLAKE (CANDLINE) November 13, 1927 - May 18, 2013 After a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's, it is with sad hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Family was at her side when God called her to Him. Mom is now at peace in the arms of her beloved husband who she said was her "649"! They shared 68 wonderful years together. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and her dear brother Billy. Left to lovingly cherish her memory is her daughter Carolyn (Fred), son Gary (Marie), sister Cathy (Ray), five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff on the 4th floor at Golden West Centennial Lodge for the outstanding care and love they showed our mother. "God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put His arms around you and whispered "come with me"." In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Winnipeg, Unit 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Mb. R3C 4G2. A celebration of our Mother's and Father's life will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue.
