ELSIE DUDAR 1933 - 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dear Mother, Baba and Great- Baba on May 17, 2013. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children, Shirley (Arnold) and Andy (Judy); grandchildren, Calvin, Curtis (Kandice), Teresa (Mark), Pamela (Irvin), Amy (Justin) and Jillian (Jon); great-grandchildren, Jordan, Reagan, Serenity, Jessie, Brendan, Cody, Bradley, Katilyn, Kaleb and Abigail; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her brother David Oneschuk (Gwen); sister-in-law Donna Oneschuk; and brother-in-law Nick Dudar (Linda). Elsie is predeceased by her husband Dymtro (Jim 97); sister Marge; brother Jim; parents, Peter and Josephine Oneschuk. Mom and Dad married in June 1953 in Beausejour, MB. She joined him in Gimli where they raised their children on the farm. Mom worked at the Gimli Hospital for 21 years retiring in 1993. Upon retiring Mom loved to garden and cook, if she wasn't outside she was indoors preparing perogies, holopchi or desserts. The highlight of her life was when her grandchildren were visiting. They played games, read stories and just being with them. She had a magical glow when they were around, although not her grandson, she had a special spot for Jesse. Mom enjoyed many things in life. She loved to travel whenever she could. She volunteered at Betel, New Horizons 55 Plus where her teammates won a number of medals carpet bowling, also the church where she loved to sing. Music was a big part of her life. She had a very giving heart and enjoyed her many friends going for walks or coffee. Mom loved her animals (farm girl at heart). Mom also loved collecting tea pots from Alaska to Nova Scotia to Cuba and everywhere in-between. Mom fought cancer years ago and won, although it came back and after a year took her to be with loved ones in Heaven. In keeping with Mom's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 27 at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, 5th Street North, Gimli. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Conner, Curtis Dudar, Irvin Friesen, Justin Smith, Jon Mutimer and Jesse Johnson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4A6 or The Gimli Humane Society, P.O. Box 1999, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
