Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ANNETTE OAKES (nee FONTAINE) July 2, 1944 - May 22, 2013 Annette, aka Mar, Gramma, Nanny left us peacefully on a sunny spring morning at the North Vancouver Hospice after a long battle with cancer. Everyone knew Annette as a person who lived in the moment, loved life, and cherished having family and friends around her, the more the better. She could always be counted on for a good laugh. She is predeceased by her husband Stan, and leaves behind five children, 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, her caregiver and friend Al, and countless other friends and relatives. Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Klimo Clinic, and the Vancouver Hospice Society for their exceptional care and attention. A wake will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, on Friday, May 31, from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and a service on Saturday, June 1 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Chapel.
