Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I knew Larry from a long time ago. His brother Keith and my brother Murray Ford were very close friends. Larry sometimes had to watch me much to his protest when the party was at the Bartley home on Kirkfield. This was only because he also had to stay home for his younger brother Murray. When we got older I often saw him at his dear friend Tom Harris's home. He was friendly and funny. Through Tom and Jo-Anne Harris I had learned that he had found the love of his life and things were looking so wonderful for him when he became sick. To all his family and friends I send my sincere condolences. Tom and Jo-Anne Harris certainly played a huge part in his life and said many prayers for him, shared in his struggle and were deeply troubled by his pain. May they remember all the wonderful time they spent with him. Rest in peace Larry. - Posted by: Brenda Ford (friend) on: May 27, 2013

  • Dear Lucille and Bartley Family, Let me start by extending my deepest condolences, we clearly lost a beloved husband, son, brother and friend. I would like to express how Larry affected me in my life. Having known Larry for about the last 20 years I can tell you that there was never a time I did not enjoy his company. He always made me laugh, but the thing was he always made me see his wisdom. He clearly lived his life by the "Golden Rule". I will never forget him because of that. He was a great example for all of us. But more recently he taught me how to face life's obstacles with dignity, courage and appreciation for one's life lived. He truly inspired me to live MY life with a greater appreciation for everything I have and will experience. Rest assured I am not alone with his influence. So the next time you miss him just look around. He left little pieces of himself everyhwere. Make sure to listen though, and I'm sure you'll hear him in that unmistakable Larry tone, belting out "ENJOY YOURSELF!" I know I will. I wish you all PEACE. • Mr. Bartley was the best teacher I ever had. While I was going to school at Maples my son Brandon attended the daycare there when he was 9 months old. Mr. Bartley would let me bring Brandon to class with me all the time, he would hang out and entertain Brandon while I did my school work. Mr. Bartley was an amazing teacher with a big heart. I feel very lucky that I had the chance to have him as a teacher. - Posted by: Lana Johannson (my teacher) on: May 25, 2013
