DONALD (SANDY) EUGENE SANDBERG Peacefully and finally feeling well, it is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Donald Sandberg on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the age of 83 years. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, June; children, Shirlee (Rod), Bob; and grandson, Christopher. Don was born in Leslie, SK, the family later moved to Cutknife, SK. He had seven brothers and sisters, Joyce, Lyle, Doris, Laverne, Shirley, Jack, and Brian. They were a very close family, usually reuniting every year at Grandma's lake. Donald was in the Air Force as a navigator for eight years. After the Air Force he worked for the Motor Transport Board retiring after 30 years. He was the President of Morse Place Community Club for 13 years; if Don was not at home you could always find him attending to the kids at the club. In his mid years he discovered Golf and Curling. Winter holidays became the thing they looked forward to every year. Many times their friends would get together and go on a Golf holiday. Dad always said "you can't take it with you." The last five years were difficult at times, but Dad was always up early and ready to meet friends for breakfast. Keeping with Donald's wishes, we would like to invite you to remember his journey at Rossmere Country Club, 925 Watt Street on Monday, May 27, 2013 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated.
