ANNE THOMAS (CLINE)
Date of Passing: May 23, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE THOMAS (CLINE) On May 23, 2013 at 10:50 p.m., our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went to be with her loving saviour, Jesus Christ. Her children have also gained comfort from the mental pictures of her reunion with our Dad, John Thomas who was her husband of almost 67 years and whose death preceded her's by two years. Mom showed incredible strength and courage in her younger years by travelling the tremendous distance (both geographical and cultural) from the Belmont area to the Patricia Beach area in order to teach school. The benefits of that move were more than monetary, they were also matrimonial. She boarded with the Thomas family while she was teaching at the local school and while there, fell in love with Johnny. She multiplied that love through the births of: Dora Cross (Alex), Jackie Stenzil (Bob), Terry (Jan), Blaine (Pat), Gail Monkman (Willie), Randy (Darlene) and Debbie Nicolas (Marcel). When we children look back at our childhoods we remember laughter, love and family; which is a testimony to the way we were raised. I heard it said recently that the mother is the "heart" of a home, and with our family that most certainly was the case. She will always be remembered for her sense of humour and her infectious laughter, two treasures that will be cherished for ever. Mom will be missed by her children, 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as many friends and extended family. Mom's funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6088 PTH 9A (Main Street), Selkirk, MB, R1A 0J6. Refreshments will follow the service and interment will take place following the luncheon in the Balsam Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Faith Bible Camp. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

Sincere sympathy to Annie's family. She was my little fair haired cousin in Belmont and very much like her mother, Aunt Ada. It was a happy household with Uncle Lewis and Aunt Ada and her sisters and brothers...lots of fun and laughter. Love and God Bless. It is hard to be so far away when someone in our family goes, especially a favourite Auntie who has been around all my life. Many wonderful memories of our family coming in from Loon Straits to 44 Handyside and the Big City -- many kids at the table being fed and all the love and laughter. I will miss my Auntie and her wonderful sense of humour. Love Doll in Yellowknife - Posted by: Marie Monkman Coe (Niece) on: May 28, 2013

Heartfelt sympathy to the Thomas "kids". We were lucky enough to spend time as teens at the Thomas house and will always remember a happy, noisy household with kids everywhere and that wonderful laugh in the background-great memories. love Irene and Sheila - Posted by: Sheila Thwaites (Longtime friends of Gail) on: May 27, 2013
