OLGA SCHULTZ (WOLFE) We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Olga was born to John and Helena Derksen in Plum Coulee, Manitoba, June 15, 1913. She lived most of her life in Morden, Manitoba where she met and married Peter B. Wolfe. They had two children, Marina (Epp), who passed away in 1987, and Harvey, who resides in Winnipeg. They were very active in the Morden Pentecostal Church where Olga's love of music continued until the end. Even though she suffered from severe dementia the last few years of her life, the one thing she didn't forget were the words to some of her favourite hymns. Peter Wolfe passed away in 1978. During their years together, Olga had a passion for travelling, visiting places like Australia and Asia. She was also a board member of the Morden Hospital Auxiliary. After Peter passed away, Olga started to spend her winters first in Weslaco, Texas, and then in Apache Junction, Arizona. It was there she met and married Vern Schultz in 1990, a retired school teacher from Wisconsin. Even though the marriage only lasted a couple of years, (Vern passed away in 1993), it was a very happy time in her life. After Vern passed away, Olga continued to spend her winters in Apache Junction and summers in a condo in Winnipeg. Once living by herself became difficult, she moved into Sturgeon Creek Retirement Residence and then on to Rosewood Care Center. Both facilities enriched Olga's last years. Mourning her death is her son Harvey (Jan) Wolfe, four granddaughters, Pat Manning of Winnipeg, Charlene (Trevor) Barnes of Edmonton, Rachel (Kevin) Armstrong of Vancouver and Lorelei Griffiths of London, Ontario, and six great-grandchildren. We would like to thank Calvary Place Personal Care Home for the excellent care Olga received in the last few months of her life. A family service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Morden. Six women from the family visited Olga exactly one year ago this week. She had not lost the sparkle in her eyes. We all had a wonderful time laughing and walking down memory lane with her. She gave us all wonderful memories to cherish. - Posted by: Sharon (Penner) Hamilton (Great aunt) on: Jun 01, 2013
