EMERANCE MORIN-PELCHAT (nee BOULET) It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Emerance on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 90. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Allan (Tracy), grandchildren Jeff (Judy), Marc (Marcy) and Adam as well as her great-grandchildren Cam, Haley, Carter, Kadence, Jason; daughter-in-law Judy and granddaughter-in-law Lorna as well as Carol and Kristie Abbott. Also surviving to cherish her memory are her brothers Bert, Emile (Elsie), her sister Aurore and many nieces and nephews. Emerance was predeceased by her first husband Bertrand (1973), second husband Herve (2000), her son Ronald (2012), brothers Laurie, Paul, Rene, Felix, and sisters Mary, Rose, Clara and Mathile. Mom worked at St. Boniface Hospital in ACF for most of her adult life retiring in 1988 at age 65. She travelled during the winter months having visited most of the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii. Summer months were spent initially at the family cottage at Caribou Lake in Lake of the Woods and later on in Pinawa. Mom quite enjoyed playing cards and was accomplished at playing cribbage, having realized a perfect hand of 29 points, and poker. She took pleasure in beating her sons and grandchildren during the many Texas Holdem tournaments held at the family cottage in Pinawa. Mom was also a hockey fan having inherited a love for the Montreal Canadiens from Bertrand and subsequent love for the Winnipeg Jets when the NHL came to Winnipeg. She took great pleasure, at the age of 88, in having had the opportunity to attend the inaugural Winnipeg Jets vs. the Montreal Canadiens game with her son Allan and grandchildren Cam and Adam. Mom was a great cook and in particular excelled in making homemade bread. Coincidentally we would welcome many family and non-family members the same day her bread was being baked. Unfortunately many of our favourite dishes will be lost as the recipes were never written down and instructions for those that wanted to learn were a bit of this, a dash of that and a pinch of what? Mom was fiercely independent, tremendously energetic and had an undying love for her family. All that had the good fortune to know her will miss her. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 ave de la Cathedrale. Interment will follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 204-775-2220

  • I will miss the conversations and stories we shared on the Pinawa deck during happy hour. The enormous smile and hugs I would receive in my buddy Marc’s garage when I hadn’t seen her in a couple of months. She was always concerned and interested in how my family and I were doing. I will miss the talks and LAUGHS we shared, that started when I was just a pimpled faced teenager !!!! Rest In Peace Me mere. - Posted by: Mike & Crystal (Family friend) on: Jun 06, 2013
