VICTOR MAGIAN It is with sadness that the family of Victor St. John deCourcey Magian announce his peaceful passing on June 03, 2013. Dad was predeceased by his parents Dr. Anthony and Margery Magian, his brother Louis and his sister Elizabeth. More importantly he is survived by his five grandchildren, Aaron (Crystal), Lanza (Carméne), Michelle, Shane and Robert (Christine). He lived long enough to know that his first great-grandchild is expected this December. He is also survived by his loving wife of 58 years Stephanie and four children Alyson (Ray), Stephen (Louise), Tony (Debbie) and Yvonne. Dad was born January 11, 1924 in Manchester England. After attending Rossall Boarding School, he went on to study medicine at the University of Edinburgh graduating in 1945. Returning home to Manchester he specialized in the field of Ear Nose and Throat. In 1956 Dad and Mum immigrated to Winnipeg, establishing his practice at the Winnipeg Clinic. After practicing medicine for some 30 years, Dad went on to pioneer the whole area of industrial hearing loss, both with the Provincial Government and the Workers Compensation Board. He also worked with the School for the Deaf and The Kiwanis Mobile Hearing Program throughout Manitoba, which was established to promote early detection of hearing loss in children. To Dad, the world was an amazing place. While travelling any further than Fargo was not on the agenda his interests were wide and varied. Stamps, making stain glass windows, painting, writing, computers, amateur radio, weaving, round dancing, and electronics to name a few. Dad genuinely just wanted everyone to be happy and to that end we are gathering this Monday, June 10, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Anglican Church located at 130 Nassau Street North in Winnipeg with reception to follow. Dad, everything we are today, is due to your unconditional love and support. Rest peacefully. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715

Winifred and the Hay family send their sincere condolences to Stephanie and the Magian family. Rankin Hay died on May 1 of this year, was a colleague of Dr. Magian at the Winnipeg Clinic as well as a transplanted doctor from northern England. I was a frequent patient of Dr. Magian's as a teenager which came to a happy end when he removed my tonsils while I was in university! Dear Stephanie, I am so sorry to hear about Vic. I was subbing for the organist at St. Bart's last Sun. and they announced it. He was a gentle soul. My sincere sympathy to you and all your family. I have so many fond memories of visiting with the two of you at St. Bart's and at coffee afterwards. It's wonderful to think of Vic now, in heaven, wrapped in the arms of Jesus. - Posted by: Wendy Bain (friend) on: Jun 10, 2013

Accept our condolences in the passing of your dear dad. I remember the Magian family with fondness and look to the years on Chataway Blvd as happy good times. I remember the birthday parties and get togethers. My brothers Charles, Andew and Phil (aka Ian) and I have always enjoyed the community the Chataway parents created for us all. Best wishes to you all. Roger Burns - Posted by: Roger Burns (Neighbor ) on: Jun 09, 2013
