MARIE GAIL MATERNICK (nee CUNNINGHAM) It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Marie Gail Maternick at her residence on June 2, 2013 following a lengthy illness. Marie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband David, children Drew (Deb) Maternick and Lee Maternick, grandchildren Dana and Dale Maternick, mother Lulu Vrooman, as well as many nieces and nephews. Marie attended St. Mary's Academy for the very first grades until graduation. Marie's favourite activity was curling at the St. Vital Curling Club, where she curled in the Ladies Club for many years. Marie also had fond memories of socializing with her friends on their daily walks. A gathering to remember Marie will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 0R3, a favourite charity of Marie's. Dear Dave, Barry and I were so sorry to learn of dear Marie's passing. We have so many wonderful memories of our youthful marriages and the fun that they brought. Jessica Lake, the Whiteshell, St. Boniface, Lomond Blvd and our kids growing up, as we were too! And our lovely big dogs Nick Maternick and Shagg Head. What fun it all was.
