Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUGUSTE PHILIAS LAGASSE 1925 - 2013 Peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 Ti-Gus, Claire's husband, our dad, pépère, grand grand-père, frère, beaux-frères, mononcle and friend left us to go bug grand-maman and to join gramps, Paulette, Léo (Amanda), Juliette and Pierre. Auguste was born on September 27, 1925. He married the love of his life Claire Desrosiers, on September 30, 1950. Auguste will be sadly missed by his sisters Yolande, Sr. Eliane and Gertrude (Lorenzo), as well as by his children, Guy (Beryl), Paul (Yvette), Nicole (Ron), Danielle (Daniel), Marc (Bernice), Roxanne (Ron); the Desrosiers family, and son-in-law Ronald Bélisle (Brenda). He also loved and was very proud of his 18 grandchildren, Sébastien, Chantale, Nathalie, Colette, Adam, Joel, Nadine, Marc, Catherine, Crystal, Dominique, Stéphanie, Eric, Stephan, Erin, Zavier, Maxim and Echo. He was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren, Mia, Koby, Larissa, Gunnar, Nariko, Révin, Arabella, Colin, Olivia and Boston. Auguste was a man of faith who was always willing to support people in need both around home and in Third World countries. He was a hard working man who at a young age helped support his family. At the age of 17 he would head off to Northern Ontario working as a lumberjack, returning in the spring. He worked at Gillis Quarries for 47 years and at the same time worked on his pride and joy, his family farm. In his retirement years he enjoyed his winters in Mesa as well as his summers in St. Malo. Auguste had "la joie de vivre" and was always ready for company, coffee and desserts. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Adolphe Parish Church. Interment of his cremated remains will follow in the parish cemetery. Un maudis bon lunch will be served after at the St. Adolphe Pioneer Hall. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 204-775-2220
