GORDON RALPH SUGGITT
Born: Oct 14, 1926
Date of Passing: Jun 08, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON RALPH SUGGITT Gordon Ralph Suggitt, resident of Winnipeg, MB, passed away peacefully, with family by his side on June 8, 2013. Gordie, as he was affectionately known, was born October 14, 1926. At a young age he joined the army for a brief time, followed by becoming an engineer at CP Railway, where he enjoyed a varied career. He did long haul operations out of Winnipeg as an operating engineer, and then proceeded to regular yard operations until his retirement in 1980. With his newfound spare time he became the GO TO guy for engine and appliance repair for the family and neighbourhood. Keeping his children in safe operational vehicles was a never ending task. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and gardening. He was the author of some legendary fishing trips to Booster Lake and an inventive cook who was not tied to any classical style of cooking but applied a more opportunistic approach. Almost anything could end up in a sandwich. Gordie is survived by his children Bob (Kathy), Shelly (Keith), Leah (Paul) and his grandchildren Kevin, Alex, and Jeremy, also survived by his brother Leonard, sisters Bobby and Lois (who was a daily visitor), and numerous nieces and nephews. A special mention to Murray Wooden, who was a regular visitor and friend to Gordie over the years. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Annette Suggitt (Miron). We would like to Thank Olga, Edith and Staff at Calvary Place for all their loving care and patience. At Gordie's request there is no service that is being held. Thank you to Thomson Funeral Home for the arrangements. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY, WINNIPEG, MB R3C 0X4 783-7211 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsonfuneralchapel.com

It is a great loss to anyone who knew Uncle Gordon. I remember when I was about 11 and going on my first of many Booster trips with Gordon, my father Cecil, Bob, Glen and David. We had to pack in everything and on longer trips my Dad and Gordon would usually make a MILK run 1/2 way thru the week. Still have pictures that bring back many good memories. Gordon and Cassy used to come to Carberry most years deer hunting he showed me how to get a deer a couple of days before season without getting caught. I stayed with Auntie Ann and Gordon when I first moved to Wpg to work. I remember the first day I went to work and Gordon said I made your lunch for you. First time I ever had a ground Spam and onion sandwich. Still have them every once in awhile always remember him when do. Uncle Gordon was one who never passed up a bargain, still remember how mad Auntie Ann was when he bought a wooden airplane propeller, he said he couldn't pass it up was only $10.
