Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySOPHIE NELLIE ELIZABETH CUDMORE (nee KOWAL) On Thursday, June 13, 2013, Sophie passed away at the Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her husband, William, in 1975. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Craig Cudmore and her daughter, Teresa "Terry" (Russell) Seidler, grandchildren Jarrett (Crystal), Trevor (Ashley) and Tara (Richard) and great-grandson Hayden. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters Ann (Walter) Paley and Mary (Norman) Heaman and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born on January 1, 1926 and raised on a farm located near Virden, MB. Later she moved to Winnipeg to take a secretarial course and became a legal secretary until her retirement. We would like to thank her care giver, Sheila, who took such wonderful care of Mom in her final months. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sophie's memory to the Alzheimer Society at 120 Donald Street. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Sophie worked for me for a number of years when I first started practising law. Here I was, a novice lawyer and she a highly experienced legal secretary. What a combo! As a newly minted lawyer, I came out of Law School having all of the theory and none of the real knowledge about the mechanics -- the stuff you really need to know. Sopie patiently taught me these skills. And her shorthand and typing speed was legendary throughout the office. My condolences for the family's loss. I will always remember her.
