I am not sure what made me think of your Mother this morning. I worked at the Jewish Post for a couple of years as secretary! I always remembered her because she was so articulate and intelligent. I admired her. My deepest sympathy to all the family and friends. - Posted by: Sharon Leckie (Work) on: Oct 01, 2023

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Philip and Lee. Lee worked for me as a freelance writer during the 11 years I served the Winnipeg Free Press as editor of its weekend tabloid, New Leisure Magazine. Lee was a consummate professional -- and a wonderful friend. She and Philip invited me into their home on many occasions to meet their children and to celebrate the Passover seder. I still cherish the Passover Hagadah that Lee and Philip gifted to me. Lee was such a giving, open lady -- and a more true "lady" never was -- in all her dealings. Her connection to the then -- early '70s -- burgeoning indigenous community in Winnipeg will always stand as a tribute to her generosity, her empathy and her commitment. She was a close, personal friend and an employee. We shared so much laughter and love over the years we were connected. Lee will always stand in my memory -- I'm now 75 and living in Toronto -- as one of the most loving, sincere friendships of my life. Sweet dreams, dear lovely friend. You are alive, always -- all ways -- in my thoughts and in my happiest memories of my time in Winnipeg. - Posted by: Peter Crossley (friend) on: Feb 29, 2020
