STANISLAW (STANLEY) WEGRZYN
Born: Dec 01, 1928
Date of Passing: Jun 18, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANISLAW (STANLEY) WEGRZYN With great sorrow we announce the sudden, unexpected passing of Stanislaw (Stanley) Wegrzyn at his home on June 18, 2013. Cherishing his memory is Anna, his wife of 64 years. He is survived by his sister Maria Jaskiewicz in Poland. Left are his son Richard (Krysia), children Michael (Elaine), Andrew, Nikki (Brent Taylor); son John, children Krysia (Fernando Consiglio), Danusia (Calvin Bugyik); daughter Maria (Chris Lorenc), children Marek (Terri-Ann), Gregory and Michael. He was a proud great-grandfather of Krystjan and Julia Consiglio. He is predeceased by his family in Poland and lost his son Kazimierz at birth. Stanley was born in Kaczonowka, Poland, December 1, 1928. His was a difficult life, but Stanley was a survivor. He lived through the horrors of the Second World War but the atrocities he witnessed, stayed with him. He met Anna (nee Owczarz) in 1948 and they married in 1949. Stanley proudly raised his three children working the family farm in Chruscina, Poland. In 1965 Stanley immigrated with his family to settle at first in Selkirk where he worked at the Rolling Mills. A job at Canadian Bronze (28 years until his retirement in 1992), resulted in a move to Winnipeg. Stanley was a gregarious, generous, sharing man whose wit and twinkle in the eye brought cheer and laughter to so many at countless occasions. And he loved company. His home was everyone's as was the family cottage at Winnipeg Beach. A wonderful husband, devoted to family, loyal friend, person of evident faith, honest, and generous are also his lasting value legacies. At home, no task, chore, project, gardening responsibility was beyond his caring interest. A true role model. He was often complimented on his children and asked how he did it. "Simple," he would say, "that is how I willed it!" Words are inadequate to quantify the impact of his pending absence from family occasions. On the other hand, if there was ever a life to truly celebrate, it is Stanley's. May God rest his soul, keep him at his side and reward his life with heaven's tranquility. Prayers will commence at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue, followed by interment at Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church. Wieczny odpoczynek rac mu dac Panie. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
