GERALDINE (GERRY) MCDONALD (nee YOUNGSON) It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that we announce the passing of Gerry on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 3:27 in the morning. She now joins her mother Jennifer, father Beverly and brother Leslie who passed before her. She is survived by her husband Wayne; son and daughter Kyle and Paige; and her two grandchildren Jennie and Mikey; as well as many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Gerry spent a lot of her early years growing up in rural Manitoba. She loved her family and was incredibly proud of her two grandchildren who affectionately called her Boo . She was also very passionate about her work and made many lifelong friends throughout her career who were very dear to her. There is a huge void that is left in our lives with Gerry gone. Even though she has left us, she'll continue to touch our lives every day. Goodbye my wife, our mother, our friend, our Boo. The family would like to thank all who helped during Gerry's final days. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Ahmad, Dr. Tan, Dr. Fewer and all of the fantastic staff of St. Boniface Palliative Care. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. Interment will take place at a later date in the Victoria Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to Desjardins Funeral Chapel or memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My sincere condolences to Gerry's family. I worked with Gerry for many years at the Mis. I always appreciated her candor and sense of humor. She endured many years of ill health yet still tried to live a normal life. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Bev Lesiuk (co-worker) on: Jun 26, 2013

  • I will sooo miss our times sitting on the beach and trying to solve all that ails the world, sharing meals, drinks and laughter on the deck, the trips to Mexico and Jamaica. Even though I say goodbye to our Queen in a physical sense, you will forever live in our hearts. See ya on the other side Gerry, we'll pickup where we left off. Your Dunder-Clump. - Posted by: Frank Kuerten (Friend) on: Jun 25, 2013
