Darlene, Donna, Tammy and families....I am so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of your mother, Dorothy. I hold many fond memories of her, especially enjoying a drink with my dad or coffee with my mom. She was a hard worker, good neighbour and fiercely independent ... way ahead of her time. I'll always remember her welcoming smile and twinkle in her eyes. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to attend her celebration of life. I know there are many memories of a life well lived. Take care of each other. - Posted by: Patti Wawyn (Old neighbour) on: Jul 03, 2013

Living on Lusted in Point Douglas, around the mid 60's. The Zahara Family became our new neighbours. Dorthy was one of the most good natured and stong willed women I have ever known. Since Ted worked up north on the Dew Line, Dorthy did all the out door chores. No matter how many times I offered to cut her grass or do some repairs, she would refuse and say I am capable of doing it myself. Capable she was even with a saw, hammer, and nails doing repair work to the house. She was always fun to be around. Darlene, Donna, and Tammy I are so sorry for your loss. i'm sorry to hear about aunty dorothy, and all the other recent losses in your family. The Zahara family always treated me like part of the family going to the lake was the best part, helping out at the lake, remembering uncle ted watching repeats of wrestling, and dorothy taking us to bingo to win all that lovely junk on board walk, the fries at the lake in newspaper were always our favorite treat, walking the railroads, we always had fun. she will be missed, i think of her every time i play bingo, i'm sure they have a big bingo hall where she is now, and happy to be back with uncle teddy. all the best, cousin Tim. - Posted by: Tim Skowronek (nephew) on: Jun 23, 2013
