Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCONSTANCE NICOLA HERRIOT June 28, 1949 - June 26, 2013 After a courageous battle with cancer, Nicola passed away June 26, 2013 at the Riverview Health Centre. Born in Vancouver, BC and predeceased by her father, Alexander Herriot, she is survived by her mother, Alexandra Herriot (Fairfoul), her sister, Sybil Boyd (Stuart) and nieces Tracy and Theresa, her twin brother, James Herriot (Joan), her sister, Christine Daly (Jim) and nephews David, James (Joanne) and Steven (Nikki), as well as many cousins and friends. An always conscientious and dedicated employee, Nicola had worked for the Royal Bank of Canada, Prudential Insurance, and Sun Life, and had formed close friendships among her co-workers and their families - relationships that have lasted throughout the years. Our funny, thoughtful and generous to a fault Nicola / Nick / Auntie Nick enjoyed going for walks, going out to a movie, supporting local theatre, meeting a friend at a restaurant for lunch and a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, shopping for and giving gifts for any occasion, but particularly for the birth of a baby, no matter how remotely she even knew the families. She was a voracious reader and a faithful browser at McNally Robinson and also contributed to various charities including the Winnipeg Humane Society, reflecting her love for animals, and Siloam Mission. She had also recently adopted her beautiful white cat, Minny, whom she adored and who will miss her almost as much as the rest of those that will forever remember her and always hold her dear. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care nurses at home, Chris and Jen, as well as the Palliative Care Unit 3E at Riverview. A celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue. Flowers are gratefully declined with donations to be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research Canada, 2446 Bank St., Suite 656, Ottawa, Ontario K1V 1A8. Hi I did not know my cousin but I was very sorry to hear about her death. I think we may have been good friends had distance permitted. The details of her obituary indicated we shared many things in common. I hope to meet her eventually in a theater in another life. - Posted by: Theresa Herriot Piccolo (cousin) on: Jul 06, 2013

To Nicola’s Family Sorry to learn of Nicola’s passing. Although we didn’t get together much since she had taken ill but we did call each other for updates on our activities & mostly on her health. What a strong woman she was – never once indicating to me that she was worried or in pain. Always a positive outlook, always saying when she gets better, we’ll do dinner. Never did she show me that she ever felt sorry for herself. I admired her strength & spirit. Will sure miss her. May God be with you all during this time of sorrow. My dearest Nicola, my friend for over 30 years. I will miss you more than words could ever say. I will always remember how many times we laughed until we cried over some of the silliest things. I will always cherish how you were there for Nicole and I through thick and thin. This poem reminds me of you: When I have come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no tears in a gloom-filled room, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little-But not for long And not with your head bowed low, Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me-But let me go. For this is a journey we all must take, And each one must go alone, It's all part of God's plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart Go to the friends that we know, And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me-But let me go. I LOVE YOU MY DEAREST FRIEND and your NAMESAKE: Michele and Nicole Pennington Michele and Nicole Pennington - Posted by: Michele Pennington (Friend) on: Jun 30, 2013
