IVAN RENDULIC It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ivan Rendulic on June 27, 2013. Ivan was born in Batnoga, Croatia on December 25, 1930 to parents Mile and Mare. Greeting him in heaven is his loving wife Mare (2002), his parents, brothers Martin (in infancy), Joso, Tome and sister Janjo. Tata is survived and sadly missed by his son Franjo (Roze) and daughters Milka (Pave) and Ankica (Ive), grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Michael (Ruzica) Nikola and Josip, Millie, Christine (Neil), Ivan, Michael (Anita) Dane, Milan and Ivan, Tomislav (Joclyn) Daniella and Luka, Ivan (Amy), Paul and Kati, Ann-Marie, Daniel and Jasmina. Also left to cherish his memory is his brother Pero (Kate) and numerous nieces and nephews in Croatia and Canada. Ivan left Croatia in 1958, leaving his young family behind in search of a better life, and a more promising future for his children. In 1963 they were reunited, and in 1968 he was blessed with his third child, Ankica. Always a hard and dedicated worker, Tata worked various jobs until he settled with Canadian Pacific Railway where he remained till early retirement. Tata was truly an amazing father and grandfather, and he took great pride in his great-grandchildren. He was a best friend to all; being born on Christmas Day, he truly was a "GIFT" to all who knew him and loved him. He was always very supportive and proud of all of his family's accomplishments. His sense of humour always taught us the simplicity of life. Tata had a great passion for his Croatian heritage and his local community. He was truly proud of his roots and his faith, which he, together with our dear mother, passed along to their children and grandchildren. Tata was an enthusiastic member of the United Croats of Canada, where he spent many days and nights attending regular picnics, playing bocce, and passing on his traditions and life lessons. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at 7:00 p.m. with Prayers at 7:30 p.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich Church, 2688 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 4 at 9:30 a.m. also at St. Nicholas Tavelich Church with Father Robert Polz presiding. Tata will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be his seven grandsons. We, the family of Ivan, would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all the professionals who made a difference and helped us take care of Tata. I'm so sorry to find out at his late date about Mr. Rendulic your father, grandfather and great-grandfather. My deepest sympathies go out you all. The Rendulic family always comes to my mind when I remember my youth in Winnipeg. My Late dad Ivan Kupresak and the Rendulic family were synonymous in the centre of the Croatian community and that's why it flourished. To the Rendulic, Paulic and Mlinac Families. Ciko Ico was a wonderful man. I remember as a little girl growing up just 2 doors down from his home (in St. Andrews). He always found time to stop and chat or pop in for a little shot of "rakija". Always willing to help and his sense of humour brightened everyone's day. Please accept our deepest sympathy. My memories go way back in the early 1960s growing up in Wpg. when my father Ivan and him became friends. He lived on the same floor we did in a house on Austin St. He was a very nice man, he would always come and say Hello when he saw me and my family when I visited Wpg. May God Bless his soul and may he rest in peace. May God bless you all in this time of sorrow. God's speed, with love xoxoxo - Posted by: Danica (Pavlicic ) Boric Prince George ,B.C.
