Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM WALTER (BILL) WASNIE October 4, 1926 - June 28, 2013 It is with much sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of a brother and uncle William Walter (Bill) Wasnie on June 28, 2013 at the Grace Hospice in Winnipeg. Bill was the eldest of three children born to Frederick and Anna Wasnie. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Alice Wasnie on October 30, 2012, and brother-in-law Peter Martens. Left to mourn his passing is sister Lillian Martens, a special nephew Robert, much cherished great-nephews William and Steven, and special friend Patricia Jessiman. Bill began his career at the Winnipeg Land Titles Office and worked his way up to Provincial Internal Auditor and retired after 35 years of service. Bill was an avid golfer, belonging to Elmhurst Golf & Country Club, Breezy Bend Country Club and spent a golfing holiday in Bermuda. He loved travelling, holidaying in England and with Mom and Alice and their motorhome spending many winters in Florida. At Bill's request a private family only memorial service will be held. Our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated wonderful staff at the Grace Hospital for their tender love and care of Bill. A life well lived! I was very sad to get the news of Bill's passing..He was the one who always kept it going when it came to some of us cousins getting together...He was kind, gentle and cherished the family memories...Why do families have so little time for each other and realize it when it is too late???
