Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I was fortunbate to live with Aunt Nan and Uncle Ernie the summer of 1967. They were very generous in sharing tickets to the PAN Am games- an opportunity I have never had since. Unfortunately, I lost touch in the latter years but extend sincere sympathy to Gerri and Rob and to Tina. Wendy Bulloch - Posted by: Wendy Bulloch (Neice) on: Jul 22, 2013

  • Ernie arranged for me to have a job for the summer after my first year of Engineering at the Manitoba Telephone System. I counted this as my first real job and I definitely have Ernie to thank for that. Ernie was a strong leader and manager and a true professional, he was decisive and left his mark wherever he was involved. He had a huge impact on my life. I always enjoyed calling him for advice. He was always willing to take time to help and he was very engaging. A great mentor for sure. During his career at MTS he came to Banff to attend a Management program and took time to visit Joyce and I in Calgary. We discussed business all weekend and just plain had fun. He will be forever remembered by our family. Heaven just got a new Board member. Our condolences to the family. - Posted by: Dave Jardine (My Uncle Roy Fraser is Brother in Law to Ernie) on: Jul 13, 2013

  • So very sorry we could not attend on Friday. Can't begin to tell you how often we have reminisced about your kindness in lending us a car! many years ago when visitors came from Scotland - and how often we have regretted not staying in closer contact. Our condolences to all the family. - Posted by: Vic, Doreen and Keith Pruden (friends) on: Jul 06, 2013

  • My fondest memory of Uncle Ernie was when he was checking on me after I was hospitalized after a cycling accident - he handed me a new cycling helmet and advised me to wear it next time. Ever a practical, common sensed man - he kept a well stocked fridge of beer as well. God bless Ernie! So sorry the years and distance kept us apart! - Posted by: Murray Holland (Laura, Nicholas, Josie, Eric, Jingya) (nephew) on: Jul 05, 2013

  • Honoured to have lived across the street on Assiniboine from Ernie, a true gentleman. In this small world, Lorne (Dutch), his brother, was the CO at St Margarets, 21 Radar Squadron when I was posted there along with my future wife back in 1975-76. Presently retired in Campbell River BC. - Posted by: Frank Jamieson (nieghbour on Assiniboine/retired Canadian Air Force) on: Jul 04, 2013

  • We remember Ernie fondly from the many years we were members of the Westview Dance Club. Our condolences to the family! - Posted by: Hanne and Ole Hansen (Friends) on: Jul 04, 2013

  • Ernie was a very intelligent compassionate person. I enjoyed speaking with him and I send my sincerest condolences to Tina - Posted by: John Melnick (Admirer) on: Jul 03, 2013
