JUDY MALNYK April 1, 1915 - July 1, 2013 On July 1, 2013, Aunt Judy passed from this world...a peaceful ending to a beautiful life. She just celebrated her 98th birthday. She was met by loved ones who had gone ahead: her beloved husband Harry, her parents, Simeon and Anna, siblings Joseph and Annie. Judy is survived by son Clifford, nieces Jean Botcher (Leon), Shirley Galipeault, Georgina Lecheschyn (Lawrence), Brenda Malynyk, nephews Lyle Malynyk (Pat and Jessica), Nick Spewak (Joyce), Alvin Spewak (Judy), Ernie Spewak, niece Christine Spewak, and sister-in-law, Ann McGirr. She will also be greatly missed by her dear friend Margaret Price and the Price family whom Judy was thought of as another family member. Aunt Judy was one of those happy go lucky ladies that one could immediately connect with - always a smile on her face. She was married to Uncle Harry for over 58 years and resided in St. Clements for most of their married life. Aunt Judy and Uncle Harry were a wonderful couple who complimented each other greatly. Although she liked the indoors while he liked the outdoors, they were still inseparable. In her younger years she and Uncle Harry vacationed in Las Vegas and Hawaii many times. She was an amazing cook and always greeted visitors with fabulous food and a diet coke. Aunt Judy's working world entailed working at Burns, The Bay and operating her own restaurant for a short period of time. Up until a few years ago, she loved doing crossword puzzles, reading gossip magazines and providing updates on all the latest news. She truly enjoyed playing cards with Nick and Joyce until all hours of the night and watching sports - everything from curling to boxing. She couldn't wait until Thursday evenings to play bingo at her block with all the social club ladies. Aunt Judy loved her Sunday excursions and explored many different restaurants and foods including Mexican, German and East Indian. She was inspiring because, in her later years, she was not afraid of trying anything different. Aunt Judy and Margaret often joked that they could start a senior's restaurant column letting seniors know about the restaurants they've had the pleasure of dining in. Aunt Judy definitely did not shy away from new experiences in her later years, one in particular was her first ride in a limousine to Gimli, and her face lit with joy and her smile continuous, more noticeable, her feeling important. The list is endless of the things she loved to do, more importantly to her though was spending time with the people in her life. She will be missed by many. Great appreciation and acknowledgment to the many home care workers who provided exceptional care to Aunt Judy over the years and in most recent years to the staff at Parkview Place and Kildonan Personal Care Home. A celebration of Judy's life will celebrated on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing. - Mother Teresa Rest in Peace Aunt Judy and keep smiling! Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
