DOUGLAS KEITH COTTRELL With great sadness, on June 27, 2013, Doug passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 64. Doug is survived by his loving wife Debbie; daughters Tammi (Karl), Christine (Ben), very special grandchildren Kieran, Oliver, Kayla and Brady; sister Linda (Duane); sister-in-law Kim (Reid), brother-in-law David (Shelagh) and all his wonderful nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Jo Cottrell. Doug was born and raised in Winnipeg. He attended Isaac Brock and Daniel MacIntyre schools. He spent his early working years at Safeway, and the last 25 years until his retirement, with Quintex Services. He loved hockey, running, golf, curling, classic cars, wood working and was an avid Jets fan. Summers at Victoria Beach, family vacations in Kauai and his golf trips to Florida with the guys, were some of his favourite pastimes. There was nothing more important to Doug than spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Everyone who met Doug liked him for his gentle soul and kind spirit. He always treated everyone with kindness and respect. He was a true and loyal friend and had many lifelong friends from grade school. Doug was the most loving and devoted husband, father, uncle, brother and friend who will be deeply missed. Thank you to Dr. Johnston and a very special thanks to nurse Erin, who's unconditional support was so appreciated. Also a special thanks to all the chemo nurses, and to Germaine from palliative care for all your help and support. At Doug's request, a private family ceremony will take place. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Winnipeg Humane Society, or CancerCare MB. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
