GREGORY WILLIAM ROBERT KUZYK 1944 - 2013 With his family by his side, Gregory Kuzyk passed away peacefully at the Pinawa Hospital on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the age of 68. He is predeceased by his parents Harry and Josephine Kuzyk, and his father-in-law Earl Jackson. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 42 years, Sharon (nee Jackson), son Paul and daughter-in-law Jen, two precious grandchildren (expected in August), sisters Candace (Terry) Opp and Maeve Bard, mother-in-law Caroline Jackson, brother-in-law Thomas Jackson, and many nieces and nephews. Gregory was born in Winnipeg and raised in the gold mining community of Madsen, Ontario. He attended Haileybury School of Mines and obtained a degree in Mining Engineering from Queen's University in 1971. He worked for Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL) at the Underground Research Laboratory (URL) for 26 years. A special thank you to Dr. Czaykowski and nurse Denise at CancerCare Manitoba, Dr. Bruneau and the Pinawa CancerCare team, and the Pinawa Hospital staff. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 at Pinawa Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gregory's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Pinawa CancerCare or Prostate Cancer Canada. I have known Greg for many years, his father was my mentor. I spoke with Greg at the High School Reunion in 2007 & was looking forward to seeing last year. Our history goes way back and my Father was very close to Greg & his father. Our Hearts go out to his family with the thought that we all felt he was a very special person & will be missed by all. What a shock to learn of Greg's passing. I ran into Greg a couple of years ago in Walmart and he looked so well. My condolences to Sharon, Paul, Candace and of course all the rest of his family. You may not recognize this but my mother Mary (Laidler) Bjorklund was a cousin to Caroline Jackson of Ear Falls. My sister Sharon passed away last November from cancer. I would like to extend condolences on behalf of my sister Sandra and I and brother Brian for your loss. God Bless you with his peace.
