MARGARET LAWSON January 14, 1921 July 5, 2013 Margaret Alice Lawson (nee Cameron) passed away suddenly but peacefully the morning of July 5, 2013 at Oakview Place. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Stewart, parents William and Annie Cameron, and by her stepmother Johan Cameron. To cherish her memory, Margaret leaves behind her daughter Susan and husband Peter Hallenbeck and their son Graham of Surrey, BC, and their daughter Taylor of Winnipeg; her son Gordon Lawson of Saskatoon and his children, Cameron, Christian and Carly, and Carly's son, Margaret's greatgrandson, Greyson; son David and wife Donna Lawson and their children, Curtis, Jennifer and Kristen of Brandon, and their daughter Roberta and Ken Sweeny, and their children, Margaret's greatgrandchildren, Connor and Serena of Winnipeg. She is also survived by her brother William Cameron of Cambridge, Ontario, and many nieces, nephews, and great friends. Margaret lived all her life in St. James, growing up on the same street as her husband Stewart, where they initially met as children. Stewart and Margaret married in September 1945 and remained happy and committed to each other for many years, raising their children in a happy and loving home. Margaret's greatest joys in life were her family, her friends, and her church. Margaret will be sorely missed by all who knew her, but we can all be comforted by knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband Stewart in God's nearer presence. Special thanks go out to the staff at Oakview Place for their compassion and care of Margaret over the last few years. In lieu of flowers, Margaret would like any donations to be made in her memory to St. James Presbyterian Church, 1476 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3G 0W3. A Celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Presbyterian Church following a private family interment. • My husband Phil and I met Margaret and Stewart when we attended St. James Presbyterian Church. We became good friends, sometimes golfing together. Margaret often made matrimonial cake for Phil, his favourite, if we were coming over for coffee. They were a wonderful couple. With deepest sympathy to all the family on Margaret's passing.
