• March 6th 2017. The day I found she passed. I just told my wife two days ago that I was going to see her because I could not get hold to her for awhile. The times I spend with Mable while living in Rankin Inlet are the most special times in my life. Next to meeting my wife. We had such a special bond. The fun we had together was something out of this world. I know she always wanted to come to Newfoundland and I can assure you that Newfoundland would not be ready for me and Mable. Boy I miss her. • Mable was truly one of my heroes - a role model for living life to the fullest. She was always ready to help someone in need; always ready to share a hug; ALWAYS very generous and she owned the magic gift of thoughtfulness. She was NEVER without an honest and candid opinion and her honesty could be overwhelming while still being welcome. Mable was incredibly creative and owned the rights to living outside the box. I will miss her spirit, her sincerity, her joyfulness, her incredible knowledge of the East Beaches history. She was an excellent storyteller and someone you could count on. There is a huge hole in the heart of Grand Marais.
