Paula will be forever lovingly remembered by her sons, Gary Kolas and wife Joyce of Vancouver and John Truss and wife Rosemarie Todaschuk of Winnipeg as well as numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. Paula was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter Truss, brother Stanley Spiech, and her mother and father, Mary and John Spiech. Pauline was born on May 22, 1931 in Sudbury, Ontario and spent most of her life residing in St. Vital. She worked with her family as a market gardener which developed her love for gardening. In 1962, she married Peter Truss and devoted her life to her boys. Paula worked at the Marlborough Hotel and then had a long and distinguished career at the Manitoba Motor League spending many years as their chief travel counselor. Paula also enjoyed working at Birks Jewelers during her retirement from the MML. Paula also loved traveling and any opportunity to entertain others. Another one of Paula's passions was the square dancing club that she and her husband Peter belonged to where she forged some of her greatest friendships. She enjoyed being a member of the United Church. Paula will be remembered by all those who knew her for her generosity and caring nature. To know Paula was to love her - she was the most generous, loving, happy person I have had the privilege to know. Whenever I felt depleted, I knew that a visit with Paula would restore my emotional and spiritual well. When I met Randy, the man who would become my husband, I asked Paula if I could bring him with me to her wonderful tradition of celebrating Ukrainian Christmas. It turned out that Paula and Randy had worked together at the Manitoba Motor League! Thus expanded the friendship between Paula and I, when Paula and Peter embraced Randy and I as family. I remember spending special time with them at their home and their cottage. How they loved each other! In every way Paula was a model of a life well lived. I am grateful for all that she has given me over the years, but especially for the laughs and love (and the food!) she shared so abundantly. Since my own mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, I have thought a lot about Paul , and about what her diagnosis has meant to you as a family. Know that at this sad time my love and prayers are with all of you who lived the gift of loving Paula - I loved her, too. Rev.
