ERWIN HILD February 28, 1923 July 8, 2013 It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Erwin Hild, deeply loved husband of Irma Hild. Erwin died at the Victoria Hospital on July 8, 2013 with his "true love", Irma at his side. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Irma and his friends who will miss his sense of humour, his forbearance, his wisdom and love. He was predeceased by his parents Else and Otto Hild, and his sisters Ilse and Martha, all of Germany. Erwin was born February 28, 1923 in Ortenberg, Germany. He returned to Ortenberg, Germany from the Second World War in 1948. It took Erwin a little while to find his "every heart's desire." But he found it when he met Irma. He knew at once that Irma was the one who embodied everything he had ever dreamed of. Irma and Erwin were married on May 23, 1953. The same year they left Germany for Canada and settled in Winnipeg and together they built their new life. Irma and Erwin enjoyed the "ups" and weathered the "downs" of their life for 60 beautiful and harmonious years. They were devoted to each other. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Irma would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Victoria Hospital, 5th floor, for their loving care and compassion shown to Erwin.
