Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Father Pelletier made many visits to my Mom and Dad's (Mike and Helen Urbanowski's) farm during his missionary work in Camperville. We corresponded through the years and he would always comment on how he enjoyed the meals at "the farm". It was always a joy to have him in our lives! My husband Arly and I were married in July of 1972 and we joked about his tying our "knot" quite tightly as we have been married for 41 years now. He also baptized our first child, Erin. I will always remember him fondly....especially his kind smile and easy laugh. - Posted by: JoAnn Dobson (Friend) on: Jul 25, 2013

  • He was always uncle to me and he accepted my Anglican husband as part of his family. He enjoyed a bottle of beer on our deck and considered it blessed. Always enjoyed dinner at our house but no brussel sprouts. He hated them. though I moved away from Manitoba always paid him a visit when home. He is remembered - Posted by: Doris Stone (niece) on: Jul 24, 2013

  • Fr. Pelletier will always be cherished in our family. He co-celebrated my wedding in Fisher Branch and baptized my 2 oldest sons in Eriksdale. I had the pleasure of working with him in Eriksdale as a Youth Co-ordinator for the Interlake region and he was always remembered with the kids as the best Ping Pong player. Many hours were spent trying to beat him on Sunday afernoons but his mean spike would always win him the match and the hearts of all his worthy apponents. Fr. Pelletier was my beautiful friend and will sadly be missed by all who knew him. I have no doubt he is now playing cards again with Nicolas, Imelda and Robert Wedensky. RIP my friend! - Posted by: Dolores Meilleur-Wedensky (Friend) on: Jul 21, 2013

  • I grew up in Eriksdale, my aunt was Father Pelletier's neighbor, I used to go and visit him regularily, I was not catholic and did not attend his church, however we were great friends, we would visit, and play cards, cut grass, and he always had cookies and goodies for me. I would leave notes for him if he wasn't home when I went to visit, he always had paper and a pencil on his door. He was a great man and I will always cherish those memories. - Posted by: Alicia McKinnon Schnell (Friend) on: Jul 19, 2013

  • Fr. Pelletier and I became friends in 1981 during a Religious Youth Retreat in Brereton Lake, MB. We had a "secret angel pen pal" that we all had to write to throughout the week and ironically, we each pulled one another's name. From that day on, we exchanged letters and cards.. referring to one another as "Angel". I have kept every letter from him since 1981 and treasure them as a keepsake. He attended my high school Grad, officiated at my wedding and attended my children's baptisms. He was a real life Teddy Bear and the best counsellor. He was a model priest and good friend ... heaven received their very best. - Posted by: Mariette Meilleur-Evans (Friend) on: Jul 19, 2013
