Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER ROZAK April 9, 1920 July 18, 2013 With profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, friend, husband and stepfather, Peter Rozak on July 18, 2013 at the Arborg and District Health Centre at the age of 93, after battling cancer with dignity and courage. He had incredible patience and never complained despite the challenges he faced with his health the past few years. He was the eldest son of six children born to John and Annie (Elchyshyn) on the family farm in the Hamrlik district east of Poplarfield. Peter grew up on the Rozak homestead where he lived and farmed until retirement. He was a hard working man, kind and generous, who was always willing to lend a helping hand. In 2000 he moved to Sunrise Lodge in Arborg where he made many friends. He enjoyed going for his daily walks, playing cards, and listening to Ukrainian music. Peter was predeceased by his father John in 1968, mother Annie in 1996, sister Olga Makowsky in 2008, brothers-in-law Walter Winnicky, Charles Kowal, Peter Kulbaba, Mike Makowsky, sister-in-law Lena Rozak, nephew Darrell Hrehoruk and step-son Elmer Tataryn. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory brother Walter Rozak, sisters Mary Kowal, Antonia Kulbaba, Katherine (Peter) Hrehoruk, numerous nieces and nephews, his wife Stella, stepdaughters Diane (Bill) Claydon, Irene (Eric) Beckert, Barb (Gord) Cooke, and stepdaughter-in-law Johanna Tataryn. His family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated home care workers for the excellent care given to him that enabled him to remain at home until October 2012. Our deepest appreciation and gratitude goes to Dr. J. Donnelly, Dr. M. Shatshat of Arborg, and Dr. S. Wong and staff of Winnipeg for their care and attention over the years. We also thank the wonderful nursing staff and all the staff at the Arborg and District Health Centre for providing exceptional care, compassion, support, and kindness that he received over the past nine months. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July, 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel, Father Harry Chuckry Officiating. Interment will follow at Hamrlik Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Peter, Katherine, and Stuart Hrehoruk, Kelly and Rick Turnbull, and Gary Rozak. Honorary Pallbearers are his nieces and nephews Linda Hrehoruk, Karen Litke, Terry and Richard Winnicky, Dennis and Gerald Kulbaba. Take him in your arms, Lord Cherish him with care Make up for all he suffered And all that seemed unfair Rest in peace, Dear brother and uncle. We love you, we miss you. I will always cherish the time that I spent with you on the farm. We were so fortunate to be able to spend some time with you earlier this month. It was wonderful to see you smile when we listened to a kolomeyka, enjoy the warmth of the sun when we went for a walk, and hear your laugh when we told silly jokes. May we find solace in your peace; may we be thankful for the time we shared. We were blessed to have you in our lives. ВІЧНАЯ ПАМ'ЯТЬ. We miss you lots Gigi. Pete shared a lifetime of great memories with his step-grandchildren and we are thankful. We were all a bunch of city kids who would get hauled off on the weekend to visit the farm. Gigi would help us gather firewood in the fall. In the summer, we would cut the lawn with the riding tractor to earn a few extra bucks. At the end of the day, we would all sit around the kitchen table and enjoy a bowl of Baba's homemade chicken soup to start supper. Pete's chair at the kitchen table was special. Everybody had a place to sit and Gigi's spot was always reserved. Pete worked hard throughout his lifetime and taught others to do the same. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Curtis and Lorrie Claydon and Family (Step-Grandson) on: Jul 22, 2013

Rest in Peace Gigi,.....I will cherish my memories visiting the farm......riding on the quad,...grabbing the eggs from under the chickens when they just barely hatched. I hope there are plenty of tractors for you to ride in heaven Підбадьорює - Posted by: Tracy Huynen (Step-grandaughter(Stella's Grandaughter.) on: Jul 20, 2013

Uncle Pete truly was a kind and gentle man who showed great strength especially in the last few years. There are many fond memories to cherish of uncle Pete teaching me to drive the tractor on the farm and riding on the trailers of hay so many years ago. Most recently we loved watching how you smiled and enjoyed being at the Arborg PCH tea. Rest in Peace, love you and we will miss you.
