NEIL CAMERON April 21, 1931 - July 15, 2013 Peacefully, Neil Cameron, devoted husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 82 with the love of his life, Elma, by his side. Neil is also survived by his three children: Sandi (Richard), Wayne, Jocelyn (Brian). Neil also leaves this world with the love of his five granddaughters: Katelyn, Stefanie, Laura, Sarah and Julia. He is also survived by one sister, Margaret and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Agnes and Angus, brothers Alex and Art. Special thanks to Gregg Lussier and his Home Care team for allowing dad to remain in his home for as long as possible. Heartfelt thanks to the N1 North team at Concordia Hospital for their compassion, respect and sense of humour caring for dad since April. Dad was a loyal and hardworking employee of the Hudson's Bay Company for 45 years. As a boy he worked for Thompson Dairy Farm and at Kildonan Golf Course. He loved to talk and made friends everywhere he went. His devotion to his family was unparalleled. He always said the best day of his life was when he met Mom. They married in 1954. Dad loved gardening, animals, being outside, going for drives, all family occasions and celebrations. His generosity, humour and kindness were limitless. We are grateful for the time we were given with him. God Bless You, Dad, until we meet again. A Celebration of Life will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. on Thursday, June 25 at 2:00 p.m. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My deepest sympathy to the family. Neil was like a second father to me. When I moved from Gimli to work at the Bay he always looked out for me. He was very caring and always spoke highly of his family. Neil was the best boss I ever had. I remember one year I was going home to Gimli for Ukrainian Xmas and a storm was coming, Neil called me at home and told me to leave for Gimli asap so I didn't miss time with my family. I will never forget how much Neil cared for others. I will never forget you Neil. Rest in peace. Love Kara and Mladen Cvar. - Posted by: kara cvar (friend and co worker at the bay) on: Jul 24, 2013

  • Comfort peace and hope may they be yours in this time of sadness. GOD BLESS I watched Neil when he was growing up on Leila Avenue hauling water from the pump, going for ice, going to the box factory to get wood and watching Lady and Tipper together all the time and the sadness that night when Lady got killed and how we all were very upset. The memories are all there and how our parents were good friends and I can't believe how the years have gone by. It was so nice to see you and Elma and when I saw you in the hospital sick I was very happy that your sister Margret asked if I would like to go to the hospital and I am very glad that I was there to say good bye to you. The Cameron's and the Ferguson's were close but we never forgot the good times. REST IN PEACE Joyce - Posted by: Joyce McGregor (friends since we grew up together as neighbors) on: Jul 21, 2013

  • Neil was the reason I stayed working for the Bay for too long, I loved him like my own father and will always remember him. He was a mentor and admired him for the way he treated everyone he encountered in life, even the most demanding of customers at work. He was the proudest dad you would ever want to meet. After our family moved to Brandon we never saw each other very much but I could always count on a phone call from him or vice versa over the holidays. He would always keep me up to date with stories about his kids and grand children or old co-workers. My heartfelt condolences go out to Elma and the kids. Please remember your beloved Neil always for his generosity and the enormous capacity of his heart. Much Love to all of the Cameron family.
