Gary was an inspiring and highly skilled educational leader. I am a better educator because of Gary asking me to consider educational research and his example as a kind, compassionate and spiritual person. It's been an honour to work with Gary. - Posted by: Rhonda Morrissette (Teacher at WAEC) on: Jul 25, 2013

I wish to send my deepest condolences to Gary's family. Gary was a caring man who demonstrated strong leadership. He talked to me at Falcon Lake in April about his renovations that he had done and was still planning to do at home and at his cottage. I am saddened by the news of his passing. He will be missed. - Posted by: Manuel Silva (Colleague) on: Jul 24, 2013

My condolences to all of Gary's family and friends... this loss is such a shock. Gary brought me into the RBRussell family and I've been ever grateful for this. He was a good man, kind and supportive and tough... and he liked Apple computers, too! The hole that his passing leaves cannot be filled. - Posted by: Elizabeth Bonnett (Teacher at RB) on: Jul 23, 2013

My condolences and deepest sympathies to Susan and the entire Comack family. Gary was a wonderful person and a great basketball coach of mine and many others at Sisler High for many years. He was by far one of the best coaches I have had over the years of many sports and teams that I played on. He was a mentor to students and athletes and would always bring out the best in every person he was in contact with. Will never forget all the times he lent out his car to us for the trips to the Reh-Fit center to get our injuries treated during school time in order to be ready for game time. Rest in peace Mr. C you will be missed by many but never forgotten - Posted by: Tom Hrechkosy (Sisler Basketball Alumni) on: Jul 23, 2013

I am so shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Gary and wish to extend my most sincere condolences to Susan and family. Gary was a great Man, Mentor and Administrator. Students once called Gary "Comack Daddy" and to the ladies in the office he became "Papa Comack". He went to bat for us, was always supportive and genuinely cared. Although it has been 4 years since Gary was Principal at R. B. Russell we kept in contact and were to make plans to meet for lunch this week to get caught up. I was so looking forward to sharing with him and listening to him speak about his family, his daughters, who he was so very proud of, and of course stories of his growing grandson. Gary you have touched so many lives. It was a pleasure and you will be forever missed! - Posted by: Cindy Bell (Friend / Co-worker) on: Jul 23, 2013

Gary Comack may have stopped coaching basketball many years ago, but he will always be Coach Comack to those he coached. In my heart he was the best basketball coach in the world. He was a tough son of a gun, but he was fair. I had the chance to meet him at the Isbister School last year to tell him how much I valued his role in my life. RIP Coach. - Posted by: Haimchand Katwaroo (Student) on: Jul 23, 2013
