BRIAN MELVIN MORRISON November 15, 1945 - July 30, 2013 Brian is survived by Sonja Morrison (nee Krickhan), Corey Morrison, Kevin Morrison, Lynette Morrison (nee Lazarick) and family, Ken and Barb Stevens and family, Barbara James and family. He was predeceased by mother, Mabel Morrison, father, Mel Morrison, and brother, Glenn Morrison. In November 1945, Brian began the fourth generation of the Morrison family in Carman, his great-grandfather, James Morrison, having immigrated to the area from Ireland in 1878. A Carman Collegiate graduate, he went on to study at the University of Manitoba earning two degrees, a BSc Civil Engineering (1967) and an MSc Civil Engineering (1968). Marrying Lynette Morrison (nee Lazarick) in Calgary in September 1972, they raised two sons, Corey and Kevin. His career took him across the country working for the Government of Alberta, Water Resources, General Electric Canada, Computer Sciences Canada and Peat Marwick and Partners, Toronto. He settled into partnership with Western Management Consultants as a Director of Executive Search in 1985. In the course of his time with WMC, he moved to Vancouver and established Brian Morrison Consulting Inc. In 2009 Brian returned to Carman to spend time with his dad, Mel. He married Sonja Morrison (nee Krickhan) and joined the Carman Area Foundation as their Executive Director. He served with them until his retirement, due to illness, in May 2013. Brian was passionate about golf. He loved curling and music lifted his soul. After a swift battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully at his home attended by loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Carman United Church. Interment to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. Doyle's of Carman in care of arrangements.
