• Carol and my relationship began a while ago. I'm not sure of the exact date but it's been quite a while, a long while. We began as co-workers, working together, coffee breaks together, the occasional pay-day after work--drinks together. You get the picture. Oh yeh, Denis and Jerry got to attend a couple of these after work gatherings. Well, you know that this relationship has gone to another level when you're able to tell your co-worker it's time for her to make her doctor appointment for her estrogen shot... she's gotten a little bitchy. AND she takes these comments from you. Menopause is such a ...witch... While Carol and I were working together, we saw plenty of each other, enough to not seek each other's company away from work.... We had plenty of time to discuss our personal highs and lows. We shared.... Then Carol retired... our relationship had to adjust. So... we went from our "in your face" relationship to "what"???? We found a way to keep it alive. We became coffee/lunch dates. A few times a year we would make arrangements to go for coffee or lunch (Jerry still hasn't been to 529 Wellington) where we would have "face time". We shared.... Our relationship was Carol and Maria...only. We did not involve our partners, Denis and Jerry nor the children. It was just Carol and me... I'll miss my friend, my coffee/lunch date, my confidant...
