ELEANOR KJERNISTED (nee GANSKE) It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Eleanor Kjernisted, on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 81 years. Eleanor is lovingly remembered by her son, Barrie (Sandra), daughter-in-law, Johanne, grandchildren; Tracey (Paul), Crystal (Jeremy), Glen (Jena), Ryan (Heather), Kyle (Naomi), Shane (Maryline), great-granddaughter, Sophie as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Emily Ganske, her husband, Carl, her son, Bryan and her brothers and sisters; Paul, Martha, Bertha, Della, William, Violet, Archie and Betty. On January 14, 1932, Eleanor was born in Dominion City. After graduation she moved to Winnipeg where she met Carl and raised their family together. She was a hard worker in and out of the home. Eleanor spent numerous years working for Great West Life where she eventually retired from. She was always active in the community spending numerous hours volunteering for the Boy Scouts of Canada long after her boys had finished. Eleanor loved to read, bowl, watch her Blue Bombers (win or lose) and spend time with her family. A Celebration of Life for Eleanor will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Common Room on the 17th floor of 133 Niakwa Road. A special thank you to the lovely staff of the 7th floor West wing of St. Boniface Hospital for all they did. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Eleanor's honour to the Boy Scouts of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
