DOREEN JOYCE ORVIS January 7, 1924 July 27, 2013 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mother, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma. Mom was predeceased by her dear husband Charlie, loving son Chuck, and loving grandson Rickey as well as 10 brothers and sisters. She leaves behind, two daughters Leah (Don) and Sharon, two sons Wayne (Debbie) and Laurie (Dal), daughter-in-law Annie, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one-great great-grandchild. Mom was born and raised in St. Peters, MB. She met dad and they were married on February 20, 1943. They lived in Selkirk in a few different places; they then moved to Winnipeg in 1960 and resided there for several years. Mom was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #30, she was on the Women's Auxiliary. She loved to go to bingo, rain or shine or blizzard. Mom was on a ladies' bowling league for a while. Mom was a mean bannock maker, everyone loved it. She and dad liked to party and have friends over. They liked their jigging music and really enjoyed kicking up their heels. Mom loved to see all the grandchildren. She used to laugh at all the funny things that the little ones did. We will all miss Mom so very much. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
