CAROLYN GLADYS HALLSON (nee DOYLEND) May 23, 1941 - August 1, 2013 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Carol Gladys Hallson on August 1, 2013 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Carol will be sadly missed by her husband Denis, daughters Jackie and Dale (Darren), and her grandchildren Ryan, Branden, Stephanie and Steven. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Gladys Doylend, and brother George. After finishing school Carol worked at City of Winnipeg Hydro where she met Denis and started her life with him. Carol decided to be a stay at home Mom and dedicated the next few years volunteering at her children's school. In 1983 she returned to work at the Winnipeg Taxation Centre for the next 12 years until her retirement in 1995. Carol's loves in life, other than her family, were spending time at Moth Lake with family and friends and traveling with her husband. When she wasn't babysitting, she and Denis were traveling to Grand Forks, Victoria, BC, Tucson and wherever else their vehicle took them. Her strong sense of family always involved the grandchildren. She loved to shop for them and always brought them back little things from their trips. She also loved to cook for the kids. Whether it was dropping off lunch during the week or baking cookies with the kids, she always had a smile on her face. Special thanks to Dr. P. Harris, Nurse Richard and the staff of Palliative Care Winnipeg. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carol's name to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

I also worked with Carol at Rev. Canada and spent much of our day enjoying each others company. We would both have smiles on our faces when we saw the first snowflakes coming down as we both loved our time out on Lake of the Woods in the winter. Good memories!!!! Hold on to your memories Denis and girls, you have lost a truly lovely lady. Maureen Fingler (friend/co-worker) - Posted by: maureen Fingler (friend/co-worker) on: Aug 07, 2013

Denis & Family I was so sorry to read of Carol's passing. I worked with Carol in the Credit Dept of City Hydro, she was always a good friend to me. On one of my visits to Wpg. I was able to meet up with her and Joann (Hallson) and we had lunch together. Sending you all my love & prayers. Lorna Perry (Cross) - Posted by: Lorna Perry (Cross) () on: Aug 06, 2013
