LEONARD JAMES GILLIES It is with great sadness that we announce Leonard James Gillies passed away peacefully Monday, August 5, 2013. Len was born January 20, 1933 in Winnipeg. He attended the University of Manitoba and in 1952 joined the City of Winnipeg Audit Department. In May, 1973, Len was promoted to City Auditor. Len was a founding member of the CGA, joining in 1969 and was also a member of CIA, Certified Internal Auditors. After working for the City for 38 years, he took early retirement in 1990. Len and companion Vicky travelled widely around the globe visiting five continents. Len also loved to golf and curl. He served on the Board of Directors for the Civic Credit Union for nine years, and also volunteered as an accountant for the International Youth Hostelling Association. He will be dearly missed by his daughters Joanne and Janet and grandchildren Trevor, Keith and James; sister Marg and nieces and nephews Karen, Kimmy, Shannon and Kenny. Friends are invited for a time to remember Len this Saturday, August 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Function Room at Marina Del Ray, 916 Cloutier Drive.
