Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL JOSEPH O'DRISCOLL On August 6, 2013, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Michael Joseph O'Driscoll, beloved brother, husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the age of 83 years. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Libby) (nee Klowak); his sister Kathleen Theresa O'Driscoll; his daughter Maureen Dech (Steve), children: Ryan, Kyle, and Travis; his daughter Colleen Krisko (Greg), children: Cameron, Cole, and Carson; his son Jeffrey (Mila), children: Marco and Nia, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was born in Winnipeg on March 7, 1930 to Cornelius and Mary O'Driscoll. Growing up with his parents and his sister Kathleen Theresa, Mike had a happy childhood. Mike's passion in his youth was playing hockey. He carried this into his early adult life reaching success including making it to the Detroit Red Wings training camp. His career ended with a leg injury. Mike graduated from St. Paul's High School in 1958 starting a tradition in the family; this included his son Jeffrey (1986) his grandsons Cameron (2010) and Ryan (2011) with more to follow; Kyle (2014) and Travis (2018). After pursuing hockey, Mike started his career in the electrical equipment sales industry where he met his future wife Libby. Mike and Libby were married in October 1962 and were blessed with three children: Maureen, Colleen and Jeffrey. Mike and Libby celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2012. Mike was a committed and supportive husband, father and grandfather. He spent many wonderful times at Winnipeg Beach in his youth and also into his senior years. His retirement focused on enjoying his grandchildren, swimming at the YMCA and spending time with his breakfast club buddies. Mike was a devoted member of his church, St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, for over 48 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mike's final years included a battle with cancer that he fought bravely. The family would like to thank CancerCare Manitoba for their dedication and assistance through this time. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Ave. with Fr. Dominic Yuen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to Making Waves Winnipeg; a swimming program operated by Mike's grandson Cameron. Cropo Funeral Chapel, 204-586-8044
