Shirley and family: I first met Ernie in 1957 when he worked in the Shop Engineer's office in Transcona, then later on worked with him at the Fort Rouge Coach Yard. Great guy, used to enjoy having lunch with Ernie and Frank Gruber and checking on their stocks for them. He will be missed, a truly nice fellow and I was lucky to have known him. I am very sorry for your loss! - Posted by: Bryan Shore (Worked with Ernie at C.N.) on: Sep 05, 2013

We are so saddened to hear of Ernie's passing and we send our heartfelt condolences to Shirley and the whole family. We are grateful to Ernie and Shirley for introducing us to enjoyable times at Monte Vista Resort in Mesa, Az where they spent 18 wonderful years. Ernie was a true gentleman and we are proud to have shared some of his life. God bless you Shirley. - Posted by: Candace & Earl Backman (Friends from Mesa, Arizona) on: Aug 11, 2013

We are so sorry to hear of Ernie's passing..we wish we would have had spent more time with Ernie and Shirley, as we lived in Windsor Park, and would see them quite often.. but Ivan, Lorne and Ben have some wonderful memories..by co-incidence Ben was here for the past two weeks so we did a lot of "memory lane" visitations. We will see you all at the service. Once again our deepest sympathy. Chris - Posted by: Chris and Ivan Seneshen (family.. ) on: Aug 10, 2013
