CHARLES EDWARD ADDISON 1918 2013 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charles "Chuck" Addison on Sunday, August 4 at Riverview Health Centre with his family by his side. Chuck was predeceased by his wife Eileen (1993) after 51 years of marriage, son John (2003) and sister Thelma (1990). He will be greatly missed by his daughter Cathie (Ken). Grandchildren Heather (Pete), Chris (Vickie), Ryan (Paige), Jasmine, Coral (Mike), Devin (Ashtyn) Jordan and Ian. Great-grandchildren Alexander, Logan and Zach and daughters-in- law Cindy and Joanne. Chuck received a degree in Business Administration in his hometown of London, Ontario and directly out of school went to work for Monarch Life Assurance. He took a break from his career path when he joined the RCAF in Windsor in 1940. He had only been married to Eileen for six months when he was sent overseas and was stationed at Bomber Group in Yorkshire until the end of the war. He was offered a position again with Monarch Life after the war and was relocated to Winnipeg in 1947. He remained with Monarch Life until he took an early retirement in 1982 to start his own business TACK Business Training which he ran until he was 75 years old. Never one to take life easy, he was active in Toastmasters and also took time to teach oral communication two nights a week at Red River College. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Riverview and the exceptional home care nurses that looked after Chuck at home. They were a godsend. Memorial Service to be held at Trinity United Church, 933 Summerside Ave., Winnipeg. Saturday, August 17 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Manitoba Cancer Society or Riverview Health Centre. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111

I have known Charlie for over 40 years as a member of the Winnipeg Toastmasters, the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, the Metro Club of Winnipeg, Sales and Marketing Winnipeg, Featured Speakers Services of Canada and the Cottonwood Supper Club who met every Friday morning for breakfast and monthly suppers. Charlie was one of the most respected and well liked people I have ever met. He was my mentor when I owned Ambassador Coffee Service and Charlie became life long friends to many. I will miss Charlie! - Posted by: Trevor Hayden (Friend) on: Aug 13, 2013
