Mom, I have been thinking a lot about the things that you and I loved to do together. Just recently we talked about how when you were a little girl you, Sybil and your mom used to go to Assiniboine Park, spread out a picnic on a blanket and watch your dad play cricket. We would always comment on how they still play cricket there today. One of my favorite pictures is of Dad in front of the Pavillion when you were both so young. It really is a special place. For many years, on each visit to Winnipeg, you and I would drive to the park, visit the Conservatory, stroll through the gardens and art work, have a quick look around in the gift shop and then have lunch in the cafeteria. Almost always we would meet someone you knew. After lunch we drove past the Pavillion and down to the duck pond, then spent a moment or two with the Boy with the Boot before wandering slowly through the English Gardens. This is a beautiful place that I know you enjoyed so much. So I bought you a memory stone which will be laid in your memory in the plaza at the new Family Centre right on the duck pond, across from the Gardens.....
