JON PAUL EINARSON
Date of Passing: Aug 13, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJON PAUL EINARSON Peacefully, with his family by his side, Paul Einarson passed away late on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his mother Clara, father John, and sisters Marin and Anne. Paul is survived by his wife Evelyn (separated) and three boys, Everett (May) Einarson, Eliott (Analyn) Einarson, Eric (Allison) Einarson, his grandchildren Justin, Emily, Liam, and Clara Einarson. Paul is also survived by his two brothers Tom and George Einarson, and his brother-in-law Frank Fryza. Paul was born February 13, 1952 in Selkirk, Manitoba. He grew up in the Selkirk area and became interested in aviation. At a time when most teenagers are thinking about getting their driver's licence, Paul was busy working on his pilot's licence, often scrubbing aircraft in exchange for flying. After establishing himself in the aviation industry as a Pilot Engineer, Paul moved his young family to Eston, Saskatchewan where he started a business called Wheatland Aviation. Paul helped locals maintain their aircraft, did charter flying, aircraft reconstruction for overzealous air show stuntmen, and to satisfy his own adrenaline fix he spent much of his summers crop dusting. When Paul wasn't with aircraft or helping his rancher friends he would be found flying his family back to Manitoba for visits, often landing the plane right on the road and taxiing right up to grandma's house! In the late 1980s Paul and family moved to Thompson, Manitoba. Paul was Director of Maintenance for two airlines over as many decades and in the later years would often travel around the globe to import aircraft from other countries. He was particularly fond of Australia, having spent a month there working on importing multiple aircraft. Paul's career came full circle spending the last chapter of his career working on aircraft back in Manitoba's Interlake. Quick to offer a "plug" of whisky, Paul treasured his social time with friends and family. An avid hunter and fisherman, Paul enjoyed hunting large and small game, and finding those perfect "pickerel holes" for fishing. Always calm and relaxed, he was wonderful at helping others not worry about the trivial things that concerned them, often citing, "You're young; you'll get over it." Paul allowed everyone freedom to be themselves and supported the decisions his sons made while growing up. Paul always made time for his grandchildren's birthdays and events. Paul's family would like to extend a special thank-you to Uncle George for his kindness, consideration, and generosity in helping Paul with his mobility and accommodations. We love you dad. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 19, 2013 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB, at 2:00 p.m. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

Paul and I worked together at Skyward Aviation. He was a fantastic Boss but most of all a very good friend. Paul and Evelyn always invited many employees over to their home as we all did not have families in Thompson. Paul never missed the annual AME Symposium in Winnipeg. This is where we would catch up on our lives and have a drink or a plug as Paul would call it. Paul inspired me in my Aviation career to be a leader. I sure will miss my friend. - Posted by: Dave Kielniak (Friend) on: Aug 18, 2013

Good-bye, Paul... I will always remember you as the best boss I have ever had and the type of boss I will never have again. I have so many great memories of my Skyward days with you and the rest of the crew. But beyond being a boss, you were also great person. It is with much sadness that I say "Rest in peace, Buck". You will be missed. - Posted by: Barb Pesalj (worked with Paul for many years in Thompson) on: Aug 16, 2013
