Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • We met Frank Walker when he first moved to Virden. His background as an RCAF member and flying with Pacific Western made an easy and instant relationship, as I, John, also served with the RCAF and the Canadian Armed Forces. We shared many tales and stories, but never served together on the same base or station. Frank was a welcome visitor at our place for many years and when another airforce friend was in the area, (Joe Wood) they would come to our home, to celebrate our friendship and share comradeship. (and even sip the nectar of Chivas Regal or Glenlivet.) The picture shown of Frank was taken at our home, located on the outskirts of Virden, was during one of those occasions. We had dressed up in our best, to help celebrate the Birthday of the RCAF (1 st April ) and thence would be proceeding to the Virden Legion to have a dinner and continue with the festivities. Our condolences are extended to all the family members of Frank Walker, as well as, to Herb, his brother, who we also know. For closure on our part, we are saddened we were unable to share a final farewell to our friend. Frank's sudden and unexpected passing has been a shock to us, and we will miss him.
