ANNE DECKA We sadly announce the passing of our Mom on August 18, 2013 at St. Joseph's Residence, just 15 days after her 90th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband John, sister Caroline (Gaspar) Piragis, brother Michael (Tillie) Mages, and all her in-laws and their spouses. She will be fondly remembered by her daughter Chris (Al) Care, son Brian (Paulette) Decka, grandsons Allan Care, Jason (Larysa) Care, and great-granddaughters Tyanna and Alexa Care. Mom was married for 61 years to her husband John. She worked in the catering business for over 30 years, mainly at the Lincoln Motor Hotel. She was an avid reader, a great cook as evidenced by her weekly Sunday dinners and a lover of all animals, especially her dogs. She was extremely supportive of her children and grandchildren, always wanting the very best for them. A private person who was feisty, intelligent, progressive with an honest / quirky sense of humour, best summed up, "Mom". We wish to thank her attending staff at St. Joseph's for their excellent care and compassion. As per her wishes, there will be a private family interment. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on Saturday at Canad Inn on August 24, 2013 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Winnipeg Humane Society if so desired.
