I wanted to express my condolences and sadness I felt when I heard of Laura's passing. I've always held her with great respect and heartfelt love. She was a smart reliable women who not only taught me things but was a great positive inspiration in my childwood. We lived far from each other but I very often recalled a lot of tender moments of our past. RIP - Helena Rebelo Borody - Posted by: helena rebelo borody () on: Aug 24, 2013

I was raised by Laura from birth to 14 years of age. She came to our house at the age of seven and lived with us until the 15th of May 1968 when we all left to Canada. It was a big shock for her watching all of us leave and she not being related to us was not allowed to come. Luckily she married someone who lived in Canada to be able to come although Winnipeg was far from toronto. we kept in touch through the years and when she had a child she called her the same name of my youngest sister Suzy. I have beautifull memories of Laura. - Posted by: Antonio Rebelo (our nanny) on: Aug 23, 2013

Our family would like to say how sorry we are for your loss of your mother. My husband and I will never forget all the baking and cooking your mother did for our bridal shower, always there to help. Your mom made the best cheesecake ever she was a special lady. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Patricia HIldebrand (Friend) on: Aug 22, 2013

Laura was like a second mother to us 7 children, she was a whole lot of fun, caring & loving as tough we were her children,it's with great regret that I didn't visit Winnipeg where she lived, however ,she was always in my prayers in my heart and thought of often and with gratitude for all that she was to us, we couldn't ask for a better nanny and care giver, always a protector even if it meant going against against our parents. I feel a deep sadness, I know in my heart she will live forever, and her soul deserves to be in heaven for the kind heart that she was. RIP Laura. - Posted by: Margarida(Guigui)Rebelo (Laura was my mothers' mid-wife and nanny to all 7 of us) on: Aug 22, 2013
