ADOLPH DE BAETS April 19, 1924 - August 17, 2013 Adolph passed away suddenly and peacefully with family by his side at the age of 89 years at the Baldur Health Centre on Saturday, August 17, 2013. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving and dedicated wife of 64 years, Annie (nee DeGrouwe), two loving daughters, Karen Tosh (Gary) of La Salle, MB and Donna Skardal of Baldur, his four cherished grandchildren Corbie (Joe), Jodi (Don), Stefanie (Brynn) and Christopher, precious great-grandchildren, his pride and joy, Madalyn and Lucas, and later a stepgreat-grandchild DJ. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church, Baldur, MB with Father Paul Bisson as celebrant. A Private family interment will follow at the Baldur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 300 McTavish Ave. E., Brandon, MB R7A 2B3, or to The Baldur and Area Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 40, Baldur, MB R0K 0B0. I'm sure no-one is likely to remember this but when I was 11 or 12, (I'm 70 now) my parents, Jos and Irma Robert took us kids to visit the Albert Paul family during our summer vacation. Actually, we did that for two or three years afterwards. Of course, it was not possible to visit the Pauls without also paying the odd call on the De Baets. I will always remember Mr and Mrs De Baets as being such nice people, kind and personable. Mr De Baets struck me as being a true gentleman, maybe because he didn't treat me like a kid but rather seemed to take a personal interest in me. I'm sure he will be greatly missed. He is in my prayers. Mrs De Baets might like to know that my mother is still alive but, at 99, she has health issues.
